The Junior High Newsletter is now distributed among all of the Junior High Teachers.  This will be where you will find the Religion updates.

 

Monday January 23rd

6th Grade - We are working on Chapter 6 which covers the Passover and its connection to the Paschal mystery. We also read about Jesus feeding the Five Thousand. 

​

7th Grade - We are working on Chapter 6, Servants of the Kingdom. We take a look at the Sacraments of Matrimony and Holy Orders. We will also discuss finding our vocation. 

​

8th Grade - We have begun work on Chapter 6, Liturgy and Unity, Worship and Beauty. We take a look at how the Church differs in the East and West. We Discuss the Eastern Rite and the difference in ritual. We also talk about building a cathedral. 

 

Tuesday November 29th

​

All classes are working on Chapter 5.  In 6th grade, Ch. 5 is about the Book of Exodus and the Israelite's flight from Egypt.  In 7th grade, Ch. 5 is about the parables found in chapter 13 of the Gospel of Matthew.  In 8th grade, Ch. 5 is about the Council of Nicea and the early disagreements in the Church.

We have also begun work on the section of the book that covers Advent.

Thursday November 10th

​

All classes are working on the Unit 1 Review.  All three grades and all six classes will have their first Unit test on Tuesday, November 15th.  It will be an open book test.  The test is four pages long, so they need to study and reread the first four chapters this weekend and review the chapter reviews from those first four chapters.
